I just stumbled upon an awesome foodie app for iPhone (not sure if it’s available for Android yet) – it’s called Happy Hour B’MORE. This app offers numerous happy hours and daily specials at bars and restaurants all over the city. On the list are well-known places such as The Dogwood, Cafe Hon, Marie Louise Bistro, Mount Washington Tavern, Talara, Corks and more.
The listed restaurants are organized by lists and also by dropped pins on Google maps. In addition, the numbers for Yellow, Raven and Blue Cab are provided on the app. The “Dispatch” option allows listed restaurants to post daily specials and updates instantly. And best of all, the app is free!
Considering that I’m currently on the budget of a recent college grad, I take full advantage of the happy hour. For that reason, I am a big fan of this app. Check it out!

Friday, July 8th will mark the first annual Baltimore food truck rally! When I first heard the news, I couldn’t have been more excited. I have been following the food truck craze since they started popping up around Hopkins’ campus last semester.
The Gathering, as it is called, will take place around the intersection of Central and Eastern Avenue, from 5-10 PM. Baltimore’s favorite trucks will be in attendance – Kooper’s Chowhound Burger Wagon, Creperie Breizh, Gypsy Queen Cafe, Miss Shirley’s, Souper Freak, IcedGems, and two newcomers, GrrChe and The Silver Platter.
From viewing its Facebook page, The Silver Platter (which already parks at Central and Eastern everyday) offers delicacies such as lobster rolls and pit beef. I can’t wait to try it! GrrChe serves up gourmet grilled cheeses – a new contender for Grilled Cheese and Co.?
Proceeds from The Gathering will go to the There Goes My Hero Foundation, which aids Leukemia patients and their families. Check out bmorefoodtrucks.com for updates and information regarding the event.
